Christine Fortenberry has more than 38 years of experience building custom homes, remodeling and light commercial. She is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Industrial Management.

As founder and CEO of Fortenberry Construction Inc, Christine has been a unique player in a male-dominated industry.  Her skills, experience, and reputation for quality, integrity, and professionalism have earned her local, regional, and national recognition. She established Fortenberry Construction Services LLC, a company which focuses on renovation, special needs and aging-in-place projects, in 2007 as a natural extension of her custom home services.

In May 2008, Christine became one of only 71 Certified Aging in Place Specialists (CAPS) in Georgia, a designation that signifies specialized training in designing and building living spaces that accommodate individuals with disabilities or people who have special needs as they age.  Christine has earned the NAHB Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) designation and is certified as an instructor for NAHB.

Christine is a career member of the National Home Builders Association, for which she serves as a national director from the Atlanta Home Builders Association, a member of the National Women in Business Council and the National Remodeler’s Council. She also serves as a state director with the Home Builders Association of Georgia, serves on State Committees and is a board member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association .  She is a guest lecturer for the Georgia Tech School of Architecture and other local organizations in Atlanta on the subject of Universal Design.  Most recently, Christine has been named to the National CAPS Board of Governors.

Her company was recognized in 2005 as one of Cobb County’s “Top 25 Small Businesses.” She is one of only six Georgians appointed chairperson to the National Republican Business Advisory Council, which named her Businesswoman of the Year in 2006. In 2005, she was named “Woman of Achievement” honoree by the YWCA of Northeast Georgia and in 2005 was named a “Partner of the Year” by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.

A strong advocate of giving back to the community, Christine has been actively involved as a “Partner in Education” with Kemp Elementary in Cobb County and has donated time, services, and materials to projects for South Cherokee Recreation facilities, the Eagle Scouts, the YWCA of Northwest Georgia and an outdoor classroom for Kemp Elementary School, Cobb County, Georgia.  Additionally she served as President of the Echo Mill Homeowners Association for six years, a development in West Cobb in which she lives and built 22% of the homes in the Cousins Development.
